My mother died last year of lung cancer. She was stage 4 before the doctor dislodged his head from his nether regions and took her symptoms seriously. By then it was too late.

They said it was non small cell adenocarcinoma. Her sister and father also died from it.

My family is getting by. This is going to be a summer of landmarks. First Mother's Day without her, the anniversaries of her diagnosis, her birthday, the day of her death, and her funeral.

I saw the title and had some hope. "Survivors of Lung Cancer". I guess I was hoping to see people who survived the disease, get a little hope. But it's nice to find people that can commiserate. Lung cancer does need more attention.

I had created this in hopes of drawing in anyone affected by lung cancer and It is still in its birth stages. I also Admin for a group belonging to Lungevity which is older and Has many survivors. I believe our senior survivor is 12 years out this year.

You are a survivor also. I call myself a caretaker survivor. Sounds better than the grieving widower I think.
