This was an article exposing a George W. Bush administration attempt to steer public opinion and "an attempt to create coverage favorable to the Bush Administration's policy in Iraq".

The media blackout was initiated by the White House and by the Pentagon.

How did you ever get an opinion out that material that "too many high ranking Libs were exposed"?

Given the current Administration's tendency to hire and appoint only conservatives who serve Sir George of Bush, is there even such a thing as a "high-ranking liberal"?

A very good article. It does not surprise me. Although I am sure most administrations had clandestine propaganda machines, the Bush administration seems to be the "poster child" of lies and repression. Those who still like him and the right wing would not complain if Bush staged a coup and declared himself "Premier" of the US. It would be for "the good of the country" or "to keep the US safe from terror". It's useless to try to reason with those folks.

I agree about this article. Many thanks, Guido. I also agree with the "poster child" theory. I am not suprised either; I used to work in public policy in another life. ;) But I will still keep trying to wake people up when I run into the ones who still support bush, even if it is in the guise of suporting "McSame". I actually met a woman who had changed her registration to vote against Hillary after listening to right wing talk radio. We had quite an interesting conversation. She tried to run with the line that if we pull out of Iraq war it will have all been for nothing. I said "Yo, Babe, it was ALL based on a lie. NO ONE else should be killed or maimed in this illegal war. She had registered as unafilliated & planned to somehow vote for McCain after voting in Dem primary. I had a nice talk with her about the man I met who worked with McCain and his problem with rage. She listened. Especially when I asked if she was really sure she wanted this dude anywhere close to the "button". I've found that many are simply ignorant of some facts and that is curable so I talk with them. Granted, there are others where stupidity and greed goes all the way to the bone. I don't mess with them.

I have a friend with family in Arizona. They refuse to vote for McCain since they consider him unstable. His own constituants consider him too unstable to vote for! Should this not be a wakeup call??!!!

Bush is asking for another $70 Billion for Iraq for the next year and we are supposed to go along with this, let alone plan on spending that every year for the next 100 years.

McCain - get a grip. The oil will be gone in less than 100 years. When the oil is gone, the no one will want Iraq.
