It goes like this... I'll post a scripture, a verse from the Bible. The next person will choose a word or phrase out of that scripture and cross-reference it to another scripture. Do this by posting the new scripture containing that word or phrase. The next person will then cross-reference a word or phrase from that scripture to yet another scripture... and so on.
For example, I might post:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Then, the next person could post:
"By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son." (Hebrews 11:17)
The phrase "his only begotten son," which is found in John 3:16, is also found in Hebrews 11:17. So, that works as a cross-reference.
