The devil cannot lord it over those who serve God with their whole heart and who put their hope in him. The devil can wrestle with them, but cannot overcome them. ~Shepherd of Hermas

In Bible study last Tuesday, the topic came up of demon possession. Some there were speaking as if it were possible and cited several books and movies as proof. Movies and books don't impress me. What impresses me is that everything we have questions for and concerns about is in the Bible. One favorite passage of mine is John 10:27-30
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

I agree! I know nothing but the Word of God inside and out.
The Word cites these. Proof positive that we must serve God with our whole heart. Not as Saul who departed from serving God.
1Sa 16:14 Now the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him.
1Sa 16:15 And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
And not as the damsel which proclaimed God. Act 16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
Act 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

I am reminded Jesus said I am no part of this world. remember satan offered Christ the world. When he can offer Jesus this, then i must be careful on what this world wants from me. i always ask Jesus for guidance.

Absolutely. When will we further understand we are to live in the world, but not be a part of the world?
What does that mean, but Jesus saying, "Come apart with Me, beloved, so I can teach you the riches of the Kingdom of God.
That is indeed what Jesus wants from us. Then we can offer His healing words to others, because they will be His words we speak and no longer our own. He must increase but I must decrease. (Jn 3:30)

The vigor of our spiritual life will be in exact proportion to the place held by the Bible in our life and thoughts. I solemnly state this from the experience of fifty-four years. The first three years after conversion I neglected the Word of God. Since I began to search it diligently, the blessing has been wonderful. I have read the Bible through one hundred times, and always with increasing delight. Each time it seems like a new book to me. Great has been the blessing from consecutive, diligent, daily study. I look upon it as a lost day when I have not had a good time over the Word of God.

I used to think that God's gifts were on shelves- one above the other and the taller we grew, the more easily we could reach them. I now find that God's gifts are on shelves one beneath the other and that it is not a question of growing taller but of stooping lower.

A commitment to effective communication is vital for a healthy marriage relationship. The Bible tells us to speak the truth in love. Learning how to express ourselves with "I"-messages rather than "you"-messages is a positive approach to communication when settling differences. ~Living Free Every Day

Some marriages with no major problems get into trouble because of an accumulation of little things. The Bible says that it is the little foxes that ruin the vineyard.

How will you love him who so loved you first? Why, in loving him you will be an imitator of his kindness. And do not marvel that a human being can imitate God. By the will of God he can. ~Epistle to Diognetus
