I too am no stranger to health care. I also have been a CNA for close to 20 years. I used to love the job, but I had to leave the job due to MRSA in my ears---how it got there is still a mystery! I am one of the CNA's who believed in gloves, and washed my hands constantly. This was just a freakish thing, and it just picked me! I am now (so far) MRSA free! Although, I have lost my hearing to the point where I have to wear hearing aids for the rest of my life! Diseases are hell and it can happen to anyone, anytime. As for Doctors, I was blessed with a group of infectious diseases and they helped me all through the 1 1/2 years of picc lines, ports. you name it, i've had it. The best advise to anyone out there, do your homework when it comes to doctors, and health care. Ask questions, lots of questions, and if you dont feel good about your Dr., get another opinion!
