What Would Zahara Wear? (I kid you not)

I borrowed this headline from the Wall Street Journal, which has an article today on a truly nauseating cultural development: people buying baby clothes and accessories because they see pictures of celebrities' babies in them.

I will not link to the website where you can find out what Zahara Pitt wears. It makes me want to puke.

I'm with you--this is ridiculous! If some of these parents were more practical, one of them could actually stay at home with their kids to raise them instead of both having to work to pay for outrageously priced clothing just to keep up with someone they've never met.

Who cares what celebrities are dressing their children in! I am a firm believer in thrift stores and yard sales--bargains galore. Let someone else pay the big price tag at the store, I'll get the items later when they've barely been used and don't fit their little darlings any longer. My kids never looked frumpy or liked they walked out of the rag bag--they were always dressed nicely and well groomed but it didn't cost an arm and a leg to dress them like that because we shopped sales, yard sales, and thrift stores. Nice doesn't have to be expensive.

Quit trying to compete--other people really aren't watching all of us--they really don't care and if we weren't all so busy trying to out do the next guy life would be so much simpler!

It is absolutely nauseating that people will eat up anything a "celeb" does.

That said, I wouldn't mind if my friend Bill wanted to work George Clooney's look...
