happydays,
I, too hope the driver learns from this. As we know, there are far too many tragedies that could have been prevented - had people not drove while intoxicated.
I don't know if I would have done what my son did. I know I would have phoned the cops for sure - but that would have been the extent.
My son's actions - what he calls 'common sense' - is reinforcing what I believe - one person can make a difference.
Take care, Deb

Deb, I just found this very touching posting, regarding your son's wonderful act of random kindness on Mother's Day.
You are so right, the ripple effects of his amazing ability to help this driver, thereby saving even more lives, was truly profoundly giving.
You should be very proud of such a kind, compassionate, intuitive young man!

What a wonderful ending to what could have been a terrible tragedy--give him a hug for all of us here at TBD!
I heard on last night's news about a fatality involving a man who had 10 previous convictions for DUI's. Being that the courts don't prevent these people from being out on the rodas, it is nice that there are "common folk" out there who will step up when the opportunity arises.

Hi southerbl, roxley & kle618
Yes, I am very proud of him. The longer this sits with me, the more I realize how I can learn from this young man. One of his co-workers asked him if he was "nuts - there's no way I would have done that - the guy could have woke up". My son "that was a chance I was willing to take to keep him from going anywhere".
I for one, am extremely grateful he took that chance. I'm also grateful that he's cautious - at his mother's request. :)
Thanks for all your wonderful comments.
from a proud & grateful mother.

Funny how all we read about kids and teenagers is the horrible things they've done or situations they've gotten themselves into. This is another prime example of how great kids really are and what a real difference they can make in the world.
