Benifits of following Christ: more joy, more peace, more calm, and more love.
Are there trials too? Yes! But God promised us trials and persucution.
I am better off now as a christian than as a non believer.

Our purpose is to do church so that anyone, regardless of past or present, is welcome to explore life with God through Jesus Christ.
To do this we will:
Create a safe and authentic Christian community.
Challenge one another to pursue a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ
Become sold-out followers of Jesus who impact the world around us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why should/would anyone else choose to NOT to be a follower of Jesus...I fought it for years as a teen (back in the day) when self worship was more a priority, and I thought all the answers were held in the religion of "sex, drugs and r & r".
For me, it all boiled down to LOVE. I needed and wanted to be loved unconditionally. Jesus' life was the only thing that ever showed me that. The power of the Holy Spirit helped me break my habits and addictions. To know that God created me with purpose convinced me that my life was worth living (as EACH life is worth being lived, and each person is worth loving).
Sorry, that's as short as I could get it.
Grace and Peace...
What I believe is simple(taken from our church web site at
The Bible is true.
We need Jesus.
Prayer makes a difference.
Small groups are important.
Teamwork is essential.
We value authenticity.
It is safe to struggle.
We desire to impact the world.
LOL, Marina . . . now tell us how you really feel!! : - )
Were you aware that there are "progressive" Christians who believe they are Christians without believing in Jesus Christ's spiritual death on the cross for our sins? They believe that Jesus was a very good man, but not God. They say that He did not intend to have a "religion named after Him?" They want to know who are we to tell them what a Christian is . . . how do we KNOW?
These ARE the end times, aren't they?
Hmmm...Judi...why can't I reply directly to your post?
Yes, I believe it...just look at all the fringe "religions" out there, and how many who don't believe in anything but themselves. What you described sounds like many of the Jewish people I grew up around, or the Hindu people we know...and the whole "all religions lead to God"...I'm just glad that people are asking!
We were overseas earlier this year, and I was amazed at how many people have never heard about the Bible, Jesus, or given thought to "God as creator" at all! Don't know why it surprised me...there are plenty of them right here.
I just want people to realize that there is a difference between believing in God/Jesus/Bible and going to church. There are a lot of people who go to church that don't follow Jesus' teachings, and many people who truly believe but won't go to church for whatever reason.
It took us a while, but we finally found a place to call "home" and it's sooo good. It's great to get to go somewhere, knowing that we're all broken, and only expecting Him to fix us...or teach us to live with our broken-ness.
It's all so exciting!
To know what it is to be a christian is a experience that you have to get from God. And it can not be explain it have to be experinced.It is like winning a football game that you have waited 10years to win it's a feeling that you can not explain to any one. that's like being a christian (a true God loving christian).And to know that we know that there is change It's called a knower that you feel deep down inside of you and your knower knows that joy,peace, and love and it will let you know when things are not right with you unbeliever could not understand it.And the only thing you can do to explain to unbeliever is how to get salvation and then you lead them to christ and then the process begins.
It is very important to have a home church. The word of God needs to be heard. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Plus we need to assemble our selves.
I also recommend daily bible study and of course daily prayer.
It is so great that you are a seeker. I love a quote I heard lately which stated there is nothing like being hooked up to the creator of the universe. What better ride could there be? You know the whole program if you would call it that God has is relationship. Take this site or any of the others out there, it is the fact that as humans we crave relationship with each other. We desire it because He the one we are like desires it from us. Christ the most awesome gift was so that God could get from Heaven into us on a personel loving level. He already knows what causes us pain or joy but He wants to ride it with us. I know that in my life the hurts and pains I asked Him to remove that He did not was so He could go through them with me. And in turn I can trust Him as I go through things together. It is not all mystical but very much like our relationships with people in our life. That is real Love. That is awesome.
