So this scientist walks into a tourist trap and sees a blue whale figurine. He notices the fins have bumps and calls the shop owner on the inaccuracy.
Sorry bubba, says the owner, that's as accurate as they get.
So the scientists thinks abaout thse bumpy fins and discovers
Bumps can produce more efficient wings for planes, more energy efficient fans, and quieter turbines.
Look for them soon in a wind farm or ceiling fan store near you. And don't be surprised in the leading edge of the next generation airplane wings look like they have warts :-)
