I see no one said Betty Crocker. I love sought west cooking as it has some really different ideas but the traditional cookbook has the best pies and cakes. Skip the tacos etc section and the dinner section has some yummy stuff. Some need planning ahead but great for special ocasions like birthdays etc.

ColbyZ and others,
I'm going to consider this question carefully tomoorow as I pull out several cabinets worth of cookbooks and go through them.
I'm tired of prying apart the packed books while looking for the ones I use.
Some came with grills I've bought, others with ovens or microwaves. They'll go into recycling first. All of those '30-min' recipe collections will go. If I needed a recipe to prepare something in 30-min then I wouldn't be much of a cook.
I'll definitly keep my Southern Living, BHG, and GH collections, as well as my regionals.
Oh well, Wish me luck. I'm cleaning the kitchen in a serious way tomorrow. Nothing is sacred (almost.) I'm going to dig out cabinets of pie plates and baking pans, empty drawers, etc.
I want ALL of my counter space back!

I actually have 3 cookbooks I have totally wore out.
1. Betty Crocker's Cookbook, copyright 1969
2. The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook, copyright 1980
3. Better Homes and Gardens Hot and Spicy Cooking, copyright 1984
I have many others but they still look new.

I wrote a cookbook consisting of foods of Guyana. The country is a mini melting pot, and it'll contain the following fusion foods of British,Indian, Portugese, Chinese,African, and Native American . It's been a tough road trying to get it published, and the food is just sensational. I am excited though, because there isn't one of it's kind out there. Can any you with the right knowledge tell me how to go about getting it published. That would be greatly appreciate. Visit my website at: www.guyanastastyexotic.com Would love to know your thoughts.
