I have had it!
From the original post:
I have had a half dozen robo calls tonight. I say "hello" and give them the count to one and then hang up....

It is part of being an American. Would you prefer a knock on the door in the middle of the night and a group of armed men in uniforms takes your kid hostage until you vote in the next day's "democratic" election? Believe me, there are parts of the world where that is an understatement!

So, allow them their right of free speech. You don't have to vote for them but I would rather be annoyed by a hundred candidates than murdered by a single dictator ... or a married one, for that matter.

Peace and romance.

powerplant, the last thing a person wants to hear when they are blowing off steam is "don't let things like that get you so upset" THAT gets you even more upset...commiseration is the key when someone needs to vent. your comment comes across a bit condescending...

Fortunately, Missouri was a pioneer in the 'do not call' movement. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover everything, but it's cut WAY down on the nuisance.

Do you honestly believe that turning over the government - voting out every incumbent, is going to stop your current complaint? Just because they aren't an 'incumbent' doesn't mean that they aren't just as corrupt as some and as fallible as others. Once they're in office they will do whatever it takes to STAY in office . . . including robo calls at election time.

I understand the root of your frustration, but your reaction doesn't make sense.

"So, allow them their right of free speech. "

Their right of free speech ends when they cross the private property line.

You can argue all you want about the phone lines but there is no question the phone, that things you bought at walmart, Sears, ATT, or Saks, is your private property.

Just like the front yard they are not allowed ot stick campaign signs in without your permission.
