It must be the cooler weather this year, but the roses are exceptionally beautiful this spring. And yes, I've smelled a Gazillion of them. With that being said, it brought to mind the old saying "stop and smell the roses." That conjures up all kinds of possibilities.
Taking the time to prioritize our commitments, making sure that we give ample time to the things which have lasting meaning is one way to "stop and smell the roses."
Relationships are some of those commitments. How I would love to have back some of the wasted time in my life. I could spend it so much more wisely now. But yesterday is gone, so I'll have to be content with what I put at the top of my list today.
Remember, the relationships we take for granted today, may be gone tomorrow. Have you hugged those you love today? Did you share enough smiles, giggles, winks, tickles, and kissies with your children? Were you too busy to sit and chat a while with an aged parent or needy friend? Did you make the call you've been putting off? Chances lost are a source of great pain. Put your good intentions in the draw and pull out the get-it-done instead.
Try it, and then share the results with all of us. Encouragement is a good motivator.
