I don't know about you guys, but anything remotely resembling a social life disappeared when I got married and had children. That, and working full-time was as social as I got. Now, at 47, divorced and still parenting two teenagers, I'm just beginning to want more than just time alone. I took a drawing class last semester, and Saturday I start a sculpting class with live models. I'm really enjoying Saturday mornings in a messy art studio!

I think what the article said about older people not getting upset as easily is definely true. You have to live a little to realize that, as bad as something might be at the moment, very often it doesn't have a lasting impact on your life. Of course, I'm talking about the C in Calculus, or not being able to go to a cool concert.

Speaking for myself, I think one word is missing from the title; the word "any." "Any Age Is Satisfying." Having said that, the difference between the ages has more to do with the trade-offs than anything. What we trade for our satisfactions changes over the course of our lives. If the trades are okay at any given point, we're satisfied, if not, not.
