I agree that religion and the preference for a particular religion or belief system is a very personal one. I don't think anyone is better or worse than mine, just different. I have done considerable study on comparative religions, and they all have some good or common threads running through them.
What I keep coming back to is that the Religion which focuses on God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Creator of the Universe and all that is and isn't, and in Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Three in One, the Holy Trinity. For me, that is the only true religion.
I'll admit that for most of my life I was a make believe Christian, a sham believer, a total abject sinner, yes, that was me. I asked in Jesus name for forgiveness of may sins and I have been forgiven and made new. That is one of the joys of life in true Christianity, forgiveness is by the Grace of God, and not by works. I could never have done enough good works to atone for my sins of commission and omission.

So, you are saying that I should follow you or I won't get to heaven?
I think we should have our own way to get there. I have also been though hell.
I have been called to practice Buddhism

Teacup; You wrote: "So, you are saying that I should follow you or I won't get to heaven?" Oh PLEASE DON'T follow me.
What I BELIEVE... is if you do not believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Creator of the Universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and all that is and isn't, and in His Only Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Three in One; The Holy Trinity. That is about it, for me, clearly the only way to heaven.
"I think we should have our own way to get there." You may Dear Flower, you may, I just don't know, I do not believe as you do.
"I have also been though hell." For that I am truly sorry.
"I have been called to practice Buddhism." I am glad for you to have found a belief system that fits your reality too. For me it is Christianity.
We can peacefully occupy the same world. I have not heard of any Christian wishing to go to war against or to kill a Buddhist, nor have I heard the opposite, yet I know it has happened and that is an awful thing.
The principals of both religions are about peace and creating harmony, and those religions and other fail not because of their God's. but in the failure and the base sinful nature of men and women.
Teacup, I am not attacking you or Buddhism, I have no anger or ill will against anyone who religion is not at war with me.
