You have nothing to be sorry about. You would never be say anything hurtful on purpose--we all know that! Thank you all for your kind thoughts. My friend's husband died recently, but she has 3 children and several grandchildren.
MIL's birthday was in May--I still haven't mailed off her present. There are so many here who had awful childhoods--I had no idea of how common that was. My mom and I argued frequently, but the scars are barely noticeable.
Della, I'm so sorry about your pain. That kind makes doing anything difficult. I hope that the chiropractor is able to help.
Mockingbirdkitty--I keep picturing Scout missing the jump. I've had cats do that, but they manage to pull off a look of "Why are you laughing? I did that on purpose".

it was kind of funny when scout missed. wow! what a miscalculation! lol she stretched her long body out from the bed to the window sill and thought that she'd just pull her hind legs up to her front paws. she even looked at me first and i knew what she was thinking, and i said "no". she's usually pretty obedient but, like a kid, had to see for herself! her legs swung out and hit the wall but she held on with her front paws then started to slide slowly then plop! bam, on the floor! she really was stunned which made me afraid that she was hurt. but she's been fine - her pride hurt maybe.
