There are several conversion adapters out there. I got mine from Staples of all places. It was a little tricky to set up, but works great converting your vinyl to mp3's. Worth every penny!. A lot of broadcasters on Live365 do just that; convert their vinyl mainly because mp3's of their genre do not exist or are hard to find. Bottom line: buy one!

A conversion adapter? Is that a device that attaches to your old turntable, or am I way off base? And is it cheaper than a USB turntable? I have only seen one type of those - Sharper Image sells it for $200 but I have also seen it at Best Buy for $165,

Office Depot sells a softwawe-converter package called "Import Deluxe" for about 80 bucks...works great.It includes the converter that simply connects from any audio source to your pc via usb.you can convert lps,cassette tapes or radio broadcasts to cds...The software is fairly easy to master and the quality of the cds you make is excellent . the process is a little time consuming because it's all done in real time so if there's an hours worth of music on a lp it will take an hour plus to convert it to a cd.By the way flea markets and yard sales are treasure troves of old out print stuff.

There are some excellent European sites for collectible records (excellent to mint). I have seen used Alice Stuart for $140 in Germany to $20 in US. Don't think used vinyl, think collector. And it is a record or artist market...I paid $20 for the first Woody Allen and won't sell it for least than $60.

I used to work at a record shop here in Vegas, and when I was a kid in L.A. From what I've seen, old vinyl is worth how ever much a person willing to spend for them. I've seen first pressing, original mint condition Lenny Bruce records go for as little as 1.00, and as much as 200 bucks.

Example: some guy decided to part with an original first pressing of "Live At Leeds" by the Who (Including Maximum R and B poster, glossy prints, copies of documents pertaining to the band under the name the Detours, etc) for 2 dollars. I bought it for 50 cents.

Well, they are not worth much on eBay, that's for sure. I think the main problem is that it is difficult to find a regular turntable today. Anyhow I got a USB turntable made by ION for under $100 last year. There are other brands that are less expensive than ION. Do a search online for USB turntable and see what comes up. You can order online and have it shipped.
