Did you have a sort of treasure box when you were growing up?

What treasures did you collect? Do you still have any or all of them?

My treasures were kept in a big, milk glass, chicken container that was made like a candy jar..

I treasured:

One miniature white Bible I received at my Confirmation

A Kennedy half dollar

A magic trick that was about eight slats of cardboard that could be dropped like a deck of cards, exposing pretty rainbow tissue paper, fan-like things.

A paper toy that was like a huge straw. On the outside was paper design of a parachuter, jumping out of a plane. You put one end in your mouth, and blew into it, pointing it toward the ceiling. A plastic man, hanging from a pink parachute would shoot out of it, and you could watch him drift, very life like to the floor.

A couple of my baby teeth, saved in a plastic, shiney gold treasure chest shaped box that my dentist gave to me.

A couple of shells

A tiny yarn doll that I had made in Camp Fire Girls.

My blue bird and Camp Fire Girl pins.

My treasures are all in my head. I treasure some of the experiences I had without which I wouldn't be the same me. The trinkets are reminders lest I forget the experiences but I have the kind of memory that remebers the experiences without seeing the trinkets.

I like to save photographs because they show a person at various stages of life. Thanks to the computer, I can save pictures that would have disintegrated soon without digital reproduction. Many of the people in them have been dead for years, generations or even more than a century in a few instances. They are people I never met whose connectionm to me would be less viable without the pictures someone took of them when they were alive.

Thanks for your input MiltT, but I think you misunderstood my question.
