I think there is a god/goddess. The trick is to let god drive your life and listen for the directions. I have been through many ups and downs with god and spiritiality and I have come to the conclusion that it's a personal experience. I don't think there is a right or wrong with belief, Just to trust and belive and let your god/godess take the wheel.

Atheists exist spiritually in a perpetual state of terrible two-ness.

Your categorization of atheists makes about as much sense as if I were to categorize all Christians as of one mind. The question was asking you if you think there is a god yet you put a tremendous amount of energy into categorizing atheists and their faults. That reflects an insecurity in your own belief. This thread started out very nice because people just stuck with what they believed and did not trash others.

Recently my 10 yr old daughter Ivy died and I've done nothing but search for God ever since.

Cindy I am so sorry to hear of the death of your Ivy. When I read your post I felt myself just sit back in shock. There really is no answer is there? It is not possible for those who have not experienced this pain to know. You had 10 years with her and she with you. I know how you miss her. I am sorry and I hope that the 10 years you had bring some sense of peace and comfort and that time will help to heal the wound. Think of how she would want you to feel and know that she would wish for you to remember her but to be happy.

I am comfortable in my beliefs. Please accept my condolences and know my heart not only goes out to you...but it breaks for you...empathizing with you as a parent...I am truly sorry.

Midagehippie: you have taken the words right out of my mouth but you said them a whole lot better! Thank you!

Unless LanSr was talking about the "terrible twos"! In other words, we're cranky, and throw a lot of temper tantrums.

Anyway, if a naysayer calls me a fool or bigot, then I'm quite sure I'm hitting a nerve somewhere.
Again, something we have in common!
Although I don't think that too many people have called me a bigot, but it all evens out!
