Seattle soon and want to meet people who live there; it's been almost a lifelong dream to live at last in a place that RAINS ALL THE TIME (ahem). Well, maybe I'm weird... (Ummm...doesn't everybody have webbed feet??? Oh no...)

If you wear boots, you won't get webbed feet, but avoiding the "Seattle suntan" (which is really rust) can be quite a problem!
I think there are two types of people, those who get depressed by the gray skies and rain, and those who look at it as their chance to sit in front of the fire with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa. I am the latter. But then I'm fourth generation in this state which may be an advantage. I lived in Sacramento California, (where it's very dry) for two years a while back. I got terribly depressed looking at the gorgeous sunshine that I couldn't enjoy because it was 105+ degrees outside, I hated the bugs that tried to creep into the house and I never felt clean because everything was dusty and dirty, and in my opinion needed a good shower every day or two. I was SO glad to return to the cool, clean, relatively bugless pacific northwest.
I live in Bellevue, Washington and love it here in the PNW. I think it's the best place in the world.

Well now that I've lurked a while I'll add my hello! My name is Deb; I live in Portland and have since 1987. I love it here, especially on days like today when the sun is shining!
My partner and I did "unofficial" fostering for a number of years in the 90s; it was wonderful. We've also done the adoption thing from two of the three sides (birthmom and adoptee)...and are considering the 3rd, although at 42 and 50 we may find it even more difficult to adopt, now. Both of our reunion stories are working out okay, with some bumps!

I live in Tacoma Washington. Love it here. Can find fun things to do in any direction. Love to travel, but would always call this home. If you let the rain stop you here. You are not a true NWesterner. :)
