What kind of fun things do you do in the summer locally?

COMMENT

Well, LBI! Is there anything else in this area better to do? ;>) On a serious note--Penn's Landing free concerts, don't forget the big freebie at Cooper River Park on the 4th...what else...floats on tubes down the Delaware, a cold beer outside somewhere on South Street....
Wildwood, Dave & Busters, the Delaware River, Outdoor Concerts at the "S" Center, Penn's Landing, the Franklin Institute, Camden River Sharks (Minor League ball is fun)...
A few weeks back, we went to Hershey Park - beautiful place & no "bad element" there - just families having a nice time. Same goes for Camel Beach water park (Tannersville, Pa in the poconos) - relaxing, wholesome, no-nonsense fun. Hey here's a tip, if you're going to Hershey Park, Giant Supermarkets sell discounted tickets! WooHoo!!!
We went to Camel Beach last weekend. What a disaster!
It was like being in the inner city. It was so crowded, (crowds freak me out a bit) and then there was lightening in the area and they closed the park. They announced " Camel Beach is closed until further notice due to the weather, please seek shelter"
I know its not their fault about the weather but it was 130.00 for all of us for about 45 minutes. On the upside I did love the wave pool but people kept knocking in to me. I have MS and am a little unsteady on my feet so I was like a rag doll. LOL
Hi C, I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Camel Beach.... We've been there several times & always had a nice time. However, we've always gone during the week thinking the weekend would be bad - I guess you confirmed that fact. As for the bad weather early close, did you check with them about getting a raincheck for another day - seems to me they should allow for that sort of thing. If not, I'd write there mgmt & complain & offer up bad press if they don't do the right thing - you'd be amazed at what a little bad press can do to motivate them. p.s. our favorite is the lazy river...
