Every generation feels that way. I believe we are fed so much crap on TV and media that we are brainwashed to believe things in a certain way. Old people are rarely showed on TV. It seems they we are taught by TV that they are useless and are not part of society. It seems we need to start with TV and media and work on changing what they're feeding our kids as well as ourselves! So many times I find us adults just going along with what they say and being brainwashed. We need to step up and start thinking for ourselves!

I don't really think that youth today are that much different than we were at that age. They think everybody over 30 is stupid and behind the times, some they think they can change the world, and others think that nothing will ever change and things are the way they are.
They are more aware of what's going on in the war of their generation than we were of the wars we lived through, but that's because they can see injured soldiers on TV and fighting in Iraq. We were kept from the ugliness of the wars of our time.
I see kids that are adamant about their political views, from both sides, and they intend to vote. I see them going through the same developments we went through at their ages.

Hi guys! I've been reading everyone's comments and I hope that today's youth truly do come through in the end (those who are old enough to vote). My experience has been the opposite. I work at Starbucks with a lot of young kids. There are a couple who are involved and aware (one is a law student and he's really not what I'd consider a "kid" anymore since he's 26), and the other is young but he's extremely involved. The rest, however, have point blank said they don't care what's going on and they don't care about politics. I think that's unfortunate!
I, however, will not give up!

I think our generation deserves respect that we are not getting....I do feel we are treated as dinosaurs ready to be buried to provide fossil fuel.
