Time to Dig For Oil?

I get scared enough for us,but for my kids and grandkids...wow.

I think whatever needs to happen for alternative fuels still could but won't.

I don't look to blame either party,everyone's guilty.

Just as I don't really hold hope that anything real will get done,no matter which party is in charge.

I want to look to the future with hope.Guess I'll pray for the best and assume the worst.

I really wish the media would stop the drama and do some real reporting.They could certainly help investigate real options for us instead of the same stuff over and over.

This is not up for debate.This is a real issue.

We need incentives to develop other sources and see which technology matures the fastest. The problem with drilling: environmentalists won't like it. Oil execs won't support it [increase supply to LOWER prices...in a capitalistic society....by corporate execs who exist for profit only...?ROFL!] It won't fill politicians' coffers like other options.

I figure in 20-40yrs, we'll be flying another flag because of our foolishness. Finally the corrupt 2-party system will be replaced....by a *no* party system! Ha!

We did see it coming years ago. In 1995, Congress passed law allowing more access to US resources. BJ vetoed it.

Since BJ, every time more access has been suggested, the morons have screamed "It's just to make his oil buddies rich."

And morons they are indeed. Alternatives, despite massive worldwide investment in R&D, are still 20 to 50 years out.

BTW, there are at least a Trillion bbls of oil in Green River shale, 800 billion of which are recoverable with currently available technology. (Some estimates go as high as 4 trillion bbls)

That sounds like plenty of incentive to me!
