A home made recipe that may work and is thick as lard because that is the main ingredient. Environmentally safe and also for the body it is safe unless allergies are to blame for acute rashes etc. Just as any other brand name product try a bit at first.
1 cup of lard (I use no name)
1-2 tablespoon of organic caster oil about $11.00 for a good size bottle and this mixture will help stretch out your monies worth (if it works for you)
about 1 tablespoon of vitamin "e" or if you have the jell vitamins you can do what I do and prick with a pin and squirt in about 7 or 8 there abouts.
1 teaspoon of vodka (for preservative) softer on skin than regular alcohol
7-10 drops of lavender essential oil (because this is my preference and one of the essential oils you can use directly on your body)the strenght is a personal preferance as well.
teatree oil is another one I use because it is a natural antifungal and germ killer great for the feet!
For my hubby he uses orange oil but must be careful not to go out in sun with it, uses as winter cream at night.
There are other essential oils to help soften your skin such as rose oil but you do not have to add any at all! Ask the folks at the store who carry the essentials and they will guide you there. It is good to change the essentials as they can toxify the body if used for long periods of time.
Mix lard, caster oil, vitamin "e" and vodka then if you choose an essential oil mix together with the end of a wooden spoon and skin is softer guaranteed!
It does rub in just fine after a bit (depending on skin type).
I found glass jars to be the best to use (you can use an old baby food jar) but this is not absolute.
Just another option????
P.S had to edit to add something I forgot........1 tablespoon of mineral oil light or heavy (add to mixture)

I worked as a CNA for about 20 years, and one of my friends gave me a tube of Udder Cream. I had my doubts, but I have NOT found anything that works as good as the Udder Cream, and it has a very light, soft fragrance!
