I've thought about this, and, honestly, I don't want to post a picture of myself.

Which should be okay because I'm not looking for dates or a new life companion. If this ever changes I will reevaluate my stance on pictures of the ''real'' me.

I chose an avatar (a glow in the dark Pez dispenser) for several reasons:

- It's female

- It's iconic

- It amuses me

I'm sure that it also says something more about me.

It's great seeing photos of people and it does not matter what anyone looks like. I like to see happy faces and eyes that smile. Eyes that smile means the smile comes from the heart.

Welllll... There is the person we see in the mirror or in our own pictures: Is that really the person we feel like? I feel more often like the character I created there on the left when I'm writing. I certainly don't feel exactly like the person I see in the mirror although that is what I look like. I'm in my "scrapbook" now if you want to see the difference between myself as a photo and myself as a cartoon. What does it matter when we are sharing thoughts and feelings on line? I guess I have favorite colors and certain prejudices about appearances, but I try to move away from that so I can read and feel what others are saying here.

Since this is not a dating site, real photos are not necessary. I started out with my own photo and then changed it due to annoying PM's.

On occasion I post my real photo but always go back to the pirate which was picked out for me by Fromz. It is really not anything I am into and the last thing I would ever wear is a skull.

It's great to see the real people behind the avatars. If you are curious...look in my scrapbook.

I TOTALLY AGREE.FIRST OF ALL YOU CHOSE A PICTURE THAT MEANT SOMETHING TO YOU PERSONALLY.MY PROFILE PHOTO IS THE PINK PANTHER.FOR ME IT REPRESENTED CHARACTER.ALL THE TIME PINK WAS FORCED INTO SITUATIONS THAT WERE CASES WHERE YOU HAD TO MAKE CHOICES,HE NEVER GOT IT THE FIRST TIME,ALL THE TIME.HE DID NOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE HE COULD NOT TALK,HE JUST DEALT WITH THE MATTER AT HAND.IN THE END HE JUST SKIPPED OF IN HIS PINKNESS BECAUSE THE JOB GOT DONE.UNLIKE US REAL PEOPLE HE DID IT WITHOUT ALL THE STRESS,HEADACHES,ECT.TAKE NOTES.
