Do you drive less? Shop with coupons? Eat less take-out? Anything else different now?
COMMENT

More cooking at home, instead of takeout, and less driving. I live 10 miles from the beaches "as the crow flies," and a 30 mile drive round-trip. My vehicle is a mini-van. $50 gives me only a half tank now. Anyway, every Friday, I used to enjoy going to area beaches, and just chilling. But when gas prices rose to ridiculous, I cut-out my weekly beach trips. That hurts! FYI, Gas prices are going to be high from now on, so we've got to find a way. I wouldn't want to be in the automobile business right about now. Remember those futuristic cars in the sci-fi movies? They've got to come up with something better. An ambulance company on the news runs their vehicles on used vegetable oil from restaurants. The only downside they said is the ambulances smell like french fries! I read Alan Greenspan's book where he recommended some years ago that we gradually be taxed $3 per gallon of gas, to help wean us off of so much gasoline consumption. Yesterday, I saw a Texas oilman on TV saying that we need to find other sources of energy. It's the sign of the times!
Goodness - not really. I was poor a year ago, and I'm poor now!
So while others buy smaller cars, tele-commute or change jobs, find alternate sources of entertainment and different vacation venues, my life goes on much the same. *LOL*
Because no matter how bad the economy gets (or how bad we're told it is), people will still drive their cars, plan vacations, buy and sell homes...and buy, buy, buy STUFF. Now maybe these things aren't done at the rate "experts" think they should, but then again, they base their findings on how much money was spent last year, or ten years ago. Whatever - I don't want to be a "finding". Poor and happy works for me and is less stressful!
I remember reading Weekly Reader in the 3rd grade where it said in the year 2000, cars would no longer need tires because all vehicles would be hovercrafts.
*Blinks*
Did I miss something?
Seeing it's just my hubby and I the economy never effected us we're still maintaining as we were, but it seems we're eating out more and have been going to the movies more as well. INCREASE!!! thank God for the Latter rain.
