Sure, urban photography can be wonderful. It presents many interesting twists to nature, building arts, and people. A good mix of those three elements can create wonderful pictures.
This is a panoramic view of the skyline of Orlando made up of a photomerge of 5 individual images using Photoshop CS2. I hope it shows up alright. EDIT only one image shows up... try to download to see it.

just tried one of a storm over Orlando but I can't see it... maybe you can!

I do urban shoots only about twice a year, even though I live in the Detroit suburbs. A little too much risk for one or two people, I prefer a group. Here are a few.

Water towers at the Packard Plant, largest abandoned building in the world.

A group of us shooters in the alley behind the Packard Plant.

Inside the Michigan Central Depot Train Station.

Under a viaduct next to the Eastern Market, near downtown in Detroit.

On a low roof outside the Train Station.
Three more from just yesterday.

when you say "Reno, NV," the image of a grizzled old man with a watered down drink pulling the slot machine handle at 4 a.m. usually springs to mind. Or the city's ubiquitous slogon "The Biggest Little City in the World" springs to mind. But I have seen much beauty here.
