Your link proves nothing either way about astrology. It's about fish. Unless you want to claim people are no different from fish and their foods that move with the tides because our food sources do.
Believe whatever you want. Believe in werewolves if it makes you happy. This discussion, this group, is not about belief. It's about science and in this discussion, defining astrology as a belief system that is not science.

I reiterate: I never said astrology was a proved science or that it had any scientific basis. I said I found it accurate in predicting interpersonal compatibility.
Why dont you use your eloquence to prove or disprove something that matters like the validity or invalidity of racial stereotypes or the validity of heredity vs social conditioning in criminal behavior.
The only point I was making is that there are connections between tides and the moon.
You appear to be taking the ridiculous position of saying there is NO connection between the earth's surface and and any of the cosmos.
Why are you so focused upon debunking a belief. You could as easily say there is no scientific proof of a Deity. Why is this so important to you? Why do you even care? Self aggrandizement?

You know you are my friend, and that I respect you; I am also a friend of Fromz, and respect him, so this constant bickering can be annoying. (you too Fromz)
As far as I can see, no one has said that you said astrology was proven science. Other people had remarks saying it was proven science, comments about it not being true were directed at them. Unless Fromz deleted them, in which case that's a little unfair to the rest of us, not having both sides of the picture.
Also I don't believe Fromz has said the planets have nothing to do with what happens on earth, such as the moon and it's link to the tides. That would be scientifically proven, and probably in the realm of astronomy, or physics, or some such (we all know science isn't my strong suit).
It may even be possible, that we might be able to predict the best time to fish based on the tides, and to some extent the moon, but I personally don't know if that's proven science.
He has said however, that there is no scientific evidence to support that the planets can somehow predict the future.
It is my observation that this was meant to be a fun post about science, much like the interesting one on the shrimp with the power of the sun. I don't believe it was Fromz's intent that it become this heavy of a discussion.
I am sure you know that in this science group Fromz has started more serious threads. Isn't he allowed to have a bit o' fun with his bit o' science?
Who knows what the next topic he starts may be. It may be serious, or it may be just a bit o' whimsy. It's his group, and his discussions, so he gets to choose the topic, and he gets to make sure that only proven scientific facts are put here, otherwise it isn't science, even a bit o', and he has a reputation to protect.
If you want those subjects discussed why don't you start a discussion about them?
Now can we all play nice? I really dislike seeing two of my friends, argue and hurl insults at one another, threaten to pull one another's posts, especially when it's a very consistent thing, and not just a one time thing.

It will? It's got to be the longest storm in history, it's definitely lasted longer than the 40 days of flood.
