I am new and this is my home(TEXAS). This group will be great. I have people ask me what is so great about Texans and I reply that living in Texas is a state of mind(mystique). So people by pass us, if they saw a sunset in west Texas they would change their minds, right quick.

Hey All, I'm not in Texas or from Texas, but I've spent over 8 of my 70 years there so I hope to qualify for the group. First visit was to Corpus Christi when I was 15. Loved Padre Island. I was stationed at Ft. Bliss from Oct 59 to April 62. Attended classes at Texas Western(Now UT at EP).
workeds for 7/11 in east Dallas and was a steel bilding rigger in El Paso during summer of 62. Stationed in San Angelo in 65 and again from Aug 67 to Aug 69. Stationed at Ft Hood from Sept. 70 to Aug 72. Met current wife in Austin in 71. Now seperated. first wife stayed in TX after divorce. As a Defense Contractor traveled to Texas many times during 1984 to 1997. I like parts of the state. I dislike parts of the state. Same with the people. Oh yeh I've also spent some time in livingston.
Got to go now. Will be back with coments later.
