Well, I'm an accidental techie who probably was meant to be a chef :)
Lifelong SF fan, never liked computers much, they are just work for me. Though I like games...

Been into SF since high school. In college I went from Education to Journalism to History before they gave in and let me graduate.
Didn't become a tech person for a decade after college, but I guess I learned fast. Now I write software manuals and Linux books. But the only code I write is HTML, so I'm not supremely geeky--yet.

I'm an author of futuristic Romance (soft sfr). I'm a wordgeek.
All I recall of my high school Physics (at an all-girls school in the 1960s) was being taught to change a plug! My favorite science was Biology.
However, I'm also keen on research, so I'm becoming increasingly interested in science.

I've held many different positions over the years in the transportation and travel industries, from airport ramp rat to my current position as an administrator.
Horses, buses, airplanes and automobiles. Some say I have Motion Madness.
I've always been the computer go-to person in my jobs, but I'm not really a techie in my occupational life. I like to study science and technology, and hope to write sci fi novels one day.
I think sci-fi fans come from all walks of life. But I also think they have a higher degree of intelligence and imagination.
I'm new here too.
