Walking is also a good way to stay in touch with my kids. We'll go for a walk on the beach and catch up .. exercise, fresh air and bonding time!

My oldest daughter esp. loves to go with me and Murphy, our dog.

clean dog + pond + ducks?

I sense a disaster ending with a longer walk for frustration and a second dog bath.

See, dogs do keep us healthier :-)

Who can afford not to walk these days? Driving to the store now costs more in gas than I spend on the groceries.

Buy beans and you'll have plenty of gas

Walking is good, particularly through your own neighborhood. I am always amazed at the things that I miss when driving through.

Also, being from Michigan, it's a lot easier to around all of the orange barrels that pop up along the roads in the summer ;-)

I used to walk all the time, but drifted away from it when I moved to an even more hilly section of town last year. Then my very young Lab with diagnosed with hip dysplasia. The vet said keeping his weight down and exercise were essential to help keep the pain at bay and allow him to continue to be mobile. So every morning we're out doing 4 miles. It's good for the dog -- great for me! My clothes are starting to fit again plus I feel much more energetic.
