I mean, approval by Europe is almost like a badge of dishonor to me. A place that is running away from God, extremely socialist, where freedom is squelched more and more every day. Where the government oversees everything in your life, and any hope of taking advantage of the free enterprise system and becoming a success is basically non-existent.
Why do I want approval from something like that? The fact that they hate us - that's a comforting thought to me.

I'm just curious - how did you come by your opinions? Is it from what our media tells us, or have you been to Europe and experienced these things? I'm not saying you are wrong - I don't know enough about what goes on in Europe to make that opinion, but I wondered how you came by it.
When you say they are running away from God - do you mean they don't go to church or are worshipping the devil, or what? Is it everyone, a majority, some of them, their government or the people themselves?Just curious.
You say they are extremely socialist - I don't know if that's bad or not, I've only ever known our system of capitalism. Is most of Europe socialist? Which countries are and which are not? How is it a bad thing? What's the difference between "extremely" socialist and somewhat socialist? There's democratic socialism - is that more democratic or more socialist? Is it bad because it's not like our system? Just curious, I'm just trying to get more information.
You say the government oversees everything - do you mean because the government offers education and health care or that they wiretap and tell you how to think?
You say that becoming a success is non-existent there -- are they all mostly struggling for a chance to climb out of a rut? I do see that here in this country, too, I'm sorry to say.
I never find it comforting when anyone hates me, I cannot understand that attitude. I think it's an opportunity to ask "why" some people hate us and determine if it's valid.
My whole life I've heard America is the best, but why? How can one nation be the best in everything? What and who makes that determination, and what are the measurements based upon? Is it merely subjective or is it quantitative? Surely, no matter how great you are, there's always room for improvement? And can't we learn from others' viewpoints?
There's a difference between confidence and arrogance. A confident person has no problem questioning things and making adjustments as necessary.
