I actually stayed home with the cat this year, and worked. Hate to say it but it is just another day to me.

I remember very well, being an expat in Asia region for several years. It was a challenge to get Thanksgiving dinner put together, finding all the necessary ingredients! And it was just another Thursday.

Living overseas has been one of the greatest experiences for our entire family. My children loved it!

When I visited England in 1976, there were signs all over congratulating the U.S. on our 200th anniversary! So you might be fine celebrating the 4th of July.

We celebrated Thanksgiving this past Sunday. My kids will be with their dad & family to go out to eat in a restaurant w...

Enjoyed the quote from Erma Bombeck, we had my twin daughter, her husband and my grandchild, along with my twin son and his girlfriend; my sister-in-law and her husband, down from Santa Barbara and enjoyed time as a family, celebrating my sister- in-law's birthday yesterday at a local restaurant. We enjoyed a great turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and pearl onions w/bacon bits, biscuits and cranberry chutney. Somehow we kept from snacking during the football games and enjoyed the time of fellowship. I know what you're going through with holidays and being a divorced parent with both of us remarried now, it was a lot different when the kids were in their teens and younger. We agreed that we would switch the days, making it the holiday morning with them and switching to the holiday afternoon the following holiday. Somehow we got to enjoy each holiday for the moment. Of course, when all of this first started back in the mid-80s, it wasn't the easiest, but somehow with a lot of co-operation it worked itself out. Especially, when I remarried, after learning several of life's lessons and continuing to correct "me," after seven years. Now, my ex and my present wife are friends thanks to my granddaughter. I couldn't of predicted that 23 years ago after my present wife and I married after living together in 1999. Anyway, more later. . . .
