I must completely disagree with "Mr./Mrs. Perfect are already taken" and needing to compromise and accept something less than what we need/desire/require. I do agree with a very wise posting on another thread that "fate finds you". If Mr./Mrs. Perfect are already taken, then many of us single/divorced/widowed people here on TBD can never find real happiness with a partner. They will all be less than we truly deserve. I don't believe that.

I made a big mistake by not 'cutting off' a bad relationship soon enough... I think that is a big mistake many of us 'mature' singles have to deal with.
Totally agree. I did the same thing and just ended up prolonging the misery. Mostly mine as she was getting her way.
