Love my teens...can't get enough of their craziness!
My son (18) leaves in 2 weeks for college. Wow. The best thing I did for and with him was to take him to lunch every Friday his senior year. The time was all abut him, whatever he wanted to talk about and boy was there a lot!
My daughter, 16 is a gem. She plays piano and flute and when she leaves I will miss that terribly.
Teens are so desperate to be important in someone's life.
I am always asking adults to be a part of just one teen's "Pitcrew" to help them win a rewarding future without crashing. Use your experience and vantage point to warn them about the dangerous curves ahead. It will bless you beyond measure and you don't have to be a teacher or a parent to take the position.

So many parents and others talk as if teenagers are monsters from outer space. I have found that this doesn't have to be the case. I am wondering if anyone else actually ENJOYS their teens as much as I do?

Mine aren't technically teens yet--my son just celebrated his 12th birthday yesterday, and my daughter is 9 1/2. But I think they're both terrfic kids. I'm wonderfully proud of both of them, and I truly enjoy spending time with them.

I make sure I am the driver to concerts, malls, movies etc. so I can hang out with (or around) the "group". They appreciate the rides and get to them (and my daughter) much better. My daughter and I are close because she sees I am interested in what she does and cares about. She does not want to go away to college, she is going to stay right here, we have some great colleges in Chicago!
Be a part of their lives and they will love you for it.
My daughter is 17 and we are BFFs!

I am having an absolute blast with my three teenage boys. They are great people and have great friends. I tell them often that I would like them even if they weren't my sons. The older they get, the more I love and enjoy being around them.

I am so glad to hear that. I have the best time with my 17 year old. We went and had our hair done today, then to lunch and we got stuck in traffic and it didn't bother us a bit, we just sat and chatted and chatted away!! :D

Absolutely! The conversations are great and I can't think of anything else that I like better than watching them compete in athletics. Hard work dealing with bad friendships and bad decisions but worth every second. Great question BTW.
