Thanks.I have a website mymigraines.com trying to get respect for migraine as a disease.Alot of people don't know that migraine is a real disease.
I've been on migraine forums where people with full careers, lawyers, teachers, lose everything.
Many people don't know that migraine beyond 72hrs you run the risk of migraineous stroke.
I have a story on my site and blogs about a young mother 26yrs old who died in Dec 2007 after treatment for migraine at an er.She was given 3 shots of morphine and sent home.
She died later that night. Most er's are trained to triage you last. Many treat you like drug seekers.I told the dr on one er trip shots don't work.Meds thru an iv.He gave me a shot anyway.
I asked him if it didn't work, should I tell the nurse,he said Oh,no.That shot will take at least an hour to work,we can't have you wait here.
Thru an iv,if I get relief,it's within minutes.
I have a friend who recently had a migraine so bad,she was literally banging her head against the wall.I've been on the way to the hospital and had to get out of the car, rolling on the sidewalk because of the pain.
I've thrown up and tried to scream at the same time, the pressure in my head was so bad.

Hi,
I'm writing this a day after your post, and I can only hope that you have some relief now. The last big one I had took me to the ER, it was the worst cluster migraine I've ever experienced, i thought i was going to die. If i didn't die, I sure wanted to, I could not tolerate that pain. I had a doc who suffered from migraines treat me in the ER, IV morphine, phenergan, and the trick she said was adding benadryl to the mix in the IV. It was gone within minutes.
Of course when i tried this at home with percocet, phenergan, and benedryl it didn't work...there is something about IV infusion of the medication to stop a really bad one.
Thanks for posting your website. Have you read Migraine Chick's blog? I don't know the web address off the top of my head but you could google it.
I wish you well,
Michelley

I'm on a roller coaster ride of pain with migraine. But today has been better, thanks.
I've been on many migraine forums,I still am even tho I have my website.I am getting ready to have my site redone.
My goal is to get respect for migraine. And to give back in my community. The clinic I go to,I've never seen people work so hard. So,I hope to feel well enough soon to get a chronic & migraine pain thru the clinic.
The people that go to this clinic, many are very poor.I'd like to help them with info and comfort items, products I'm looking for right now. These are things I'd like to give to them.
I have alot of goals.Even tho I have these times,I am having longer spans of time recently with lower levels of pain.I'm even exercising again.
I've got a number of blogs, too. All these things help me alot
Thanks,take care,Marge

it is very important to learn as much as you possibly can about migraines if you or a loved one is having them. as marge said, a 72+ hour migraine can become very dangerous. my longest was 17 days <408 hours>. i wanted desperately to die and prayed constantly that God would just take me quickly and quietly. people don't get this if they haven't experienced it and it's so frustrating. i have "Mixed Migraines" now as my cervical spine actually produces a migraine and then that most often sets off the classical migraine and they mix together. Yes, you want to die. I am on ice packs for days. I can't think straight. The medication makes me super high and after days of this, I have to come down off of all of it and i feel like crap for 2 days. If my neurologist tells me that surgery will stop these headaches, i'm going for it. More than half of my life is spent in bed with these headaches and yeah, do i feel bad for myself, yes. yes i do. i can't help it. the anxiety and depression from this chronic pain is wrapped all around the pain and despite all of my research, i am still trying to be hopeful that a doctor will find the answer. chiropractic manipulation and massage make it all much worse. i haven't yet tried acupuncture. has anyone had any good result with this?

I did accupuncture along with that tea concoction they sell you.It didn't help. But it has helped alot of migraineurs.
My sister had a friend send over a message therapist and she could not believe the differnce in her pain.I'd like to try that. She had a deep tissue maasage before that hurt her,but this one wasn't like that.
I can tell you this, when we had a hot tub,I was doing much better. So that is on my wish list. That would make me feel like rubber. And I'd go out, especially at night and look at the stars. That was a dream.
I hope to get another hot tub soon.
