I know that Texas is Bigger and Better, but it seems to me every time a new Texan joins the site a new Texas group is started. Maybe we could have the admin centralize all "State" oriented sites- It might increase the total number of sites - (some States may not have groups) but it would help new people if it were somehow publicized that there were already places for each state.
(I think we need a simple (short and straightforward getting started documented that explains how to find groups, discussions etc..)
We might also want larger topics under which the actual discussion groups must fit. (Maybe 5-10 super topics folders- (Like Disciplines at Universities or genus with animal/plant classifications) - such things as Art and Crafts, Science, Pop Culture, Human relationships and interactions, Health, Geographic connections, Political, Spiritual/philosophical etc. and then we could have sub groups (Like Departments at Universities or species in classification systems) Under transport we might have groups on Motorcycles, cars, bicycling) etc.
I know there would still be possibilities for overlap, but it might make it easier for new people to see where to find people/topics instead of reinventing the wheel each time. If when one started a discussion one got a question asking which category do you want your discussion to go in (with required options) and then when one clicked on the folder of choice it showed what was already there as well as gave a place to fill in a new topic, then it would make the place a bit more organized.
(I'm being too neurotic about this, aren't I?!!!)
