How the heck do you think the ice age ended? Global warming, of course. And this group is old enough to remember the historic blizzards of the early '80's that paralyzed large parts of the country. All the scientists were pissing themselves then too, only it was because global cooling was going to end mankind as we know it. Oh, by the way, you do know that the earth has been COOLING for the last seven years, don't you?

Remember 3 years ago when all the so called "experts" were saying the next few years were going to produce record numbers of destructive hurricanes? Well, guess what. Hurricanes cannot form if the water isn't warm enough to provide the necessary energy. The last two years saw record numbers of hurricanes alright. Fewest hurricanes since record keeping started. And this year, if we're going to break the record, they better hurry up.

Just yesterday I heard that this year, Chicago has recorded the fewest days above 90 degrees than in any year since the 1930's. There's more, but I don't keep a running tally of all this crap. Sure, there's air and water pollution and we should all do our part to help keep it clean. And alternative energy is fine as an alternative. But this world has been here umpteen millions of years, and I don't believe we, as a human race, are going to destroy it in a single century.
