First it is great that you were able to gather, two days in a row. Not always possible in today's society.

Second, the Slow Cooker is my best kitchen friend.

Third the meal blessing is new to me and very pleasing.

And Fourth, what a parents are to raise their children in the admonition of the Lord.

My children are all grown, but wouldn't it be lovely if our other members would come here and share their meal and prayers with us?

I posted a mealtime family prayer for children elsewhere, and when I can round it up I'll be back.

I remember when my kids were growing up. They would always say grace and most would practically fight over who was going to say it. 'Who wants to say grace?' I would say, and I usually had several to choose from.

our family used to have "meal time" together until the TV got in the way one time, and now it's such a struggle at times to get them back...we do, however, pray before we all eat our meal, even though we don't eat around the dinner table, sad to say...

I am happy for those who still observe this time honored ritual of thanking God for His bounty. But I must confess that it did make me rather sad to think that my daughter, being a non-believer, does not observe such a beautiful and meaningful practice. And what is worse, my grand-son may be raised in a like manner. Please pray for our loved ones who are not yet saved. Blessings.

When I was growing up, we never attended church...As a matter of fact, neither one of my parents were saved, until they reached their late 70's....

The one thing we did, every day though, was set down to breakfast, and supper as a family....

In today's world, with all the school curriculam, well it's hard to do now....
