There are some very true statements there and some truely funny ones. But honestly what else can you go to when you feel down, look horrible, are misserable or sick and they still give you a big wet kiss.. Then I think how horrible life would be with out them. Thankfully we were blessed.

LET ME MAKE A DIFFERENCE
An activist's prayer
by Jenny Moxham
Please let me make a difference, God
Before I leave this Earth,
I want my life to be a life
Of true and lasting worth.
Please grant me time to make this world
As perfect as I can,
For all the dear animals
Abused and used by man. Amen
I'm so sorry about your doggie. I cannot even imagine life without my cat skoogie. (Her name means baby in Athabascan-skoo'gaa) They are truly a gift from God.

I can't post any pic's of my cats yet; I have only one now. Honey, my constant gentleman orange tabby companion is 17 1/2 years old and slowly but gracefully declining.
I have always taken in strays and if they were found to be healthy, I found good homes for them or kept one or two for a while until the landlord became ornery. (Boo!) I would do the same for any kind of animal, (well, perhaps a rhino would be a bit much... ;) ), but I have been in apartments for years and have never been allowed even a dog. *Sigh*.
I am fearful of the day when I lose Honey, for I am alone with him most of the time now that I am disabled. I thought that we couldn't possibly become any closer than we already were. I was wrong. Over the years he has always good naturedly welcomed in the newest stray I've slowly allowed out of the initial sequestration in the bathroom, unlike the other cats who were hissy and challenging at first. Honey would say hello, and give a tour of the apartment. He has been my clown during the good times, and my pillow catching my tears during the hard times. Honey stays right against me when I am ill; he leaves only for his necessities then quickly returns. He kisses me constantly, more so when I'm very ill or crying. He also touches his paw to my face, usually to my eyes and mouth. He is by far the most intelligent cat I've ever come upon and I am SO grateful to the Lord that I have been so blessed with him.
Do any of you have any thoughts as to whether or not we will be able to see our pets in heaven? I have heard comments both ways and would just like to hear from you, also.
The thought that I will never see at least my Honey cat again is almost too much to bear.
Thanks for letting me go on, so. Also, thanks for sharing all that you all have.
Marcy

Marcy, that was just so touching. Yes animals are our best friends, and will stay with us in sickness, and in health. Much like our Creator, who is also theirs. I don't know if we will see them in Heaven, but a former pastor friend of mine, gave me an opinion on the subject, that also applies to our friends and relatives who've been left behind. When we reach Heaven it will be such a beautiful and happy place, that the thought of someone, or something that we loved not being there will not make us sad. It will be as if wherever they are, they are not suffering. Sometimes it is this thought that keeps me from crying on my dads' birthday. May you be blessed.

Ever have one of those days, when something seemed a bit 'off' but you just couldn't put your finger on it...
