Hi,
I'm sober 30 years and still have a yearning or two, briefly, about being "normal" and able to party---Partying for me would mean the end of all that is important to me, especially the spiritual relationship I have with my HP. Thankfully, I just focus on today and remind myself that the hype about Thanksgiving and Christmas is just that, hype. I also remind myself that a holiday is in reality just another day to approach positively, or not. I have so much to be grateful for, as I am sure you do after 25 years of sobriety. Thanks for the topic. It helped me to reinforce why I am grateful to be sober.

I am fortunate. I spend time with my family who are either normal or recovering.
During times with my friends in recovery, I can express my feelings and can offer my experience to others.
I have told some of my friends that it is necessary to redefine words such as, "party" "celebrate", etc.
What I know from experience is that if I pick up an alcholic drink, it will not lead to "Party" "celebration" or happiness.

Thank you Hope, I'm with you. Even though my mind still plays games with me. I am fortunate to have a good support in the people around me.
Great reminder, for me, especially around this time of year.
