So many of you are sharing your losses here, yet being lifted up by the healing power of music.
Just-a-writer-I am so sorry about your mom's passing, it's very, very difficult. I, too, endured my mom's crossing over. She became suddenly ill, and was comatose, by the time that I could drive out-of-state, but I think that she knew that I was there.
KatherineH.- you were so kind to post those heartfelt lyrics that remind you of your beloved husband.
Gypsyjimm: my deepest sympathies on your dad's recent passing. It's never easy, but take comfort in the tremendous love given. The Scottish bagpipes sounded beautiful, and your suggestions to play loved one's favorite CD's, are wonderful. My dear dad passed, also, when I was 5 mos. pregnant with my second child, he went in his sleep. He was not only an amazing, unforgettable father, but one of my best friends. Thankfully, I see my parents often in my dreams, and they are happy.
"Amazing Grace' was their favorite hymn, and we sang it with tears streaming down our faces, at both of my parent's services. I send wishes for peace and comfort to you all, through God's infinite, eternal love, and remember to cherish your fond memories.

I was just apologizing for not knowing how to post when I blew myself completely out of Boomers... WOW
I enjoyed reading all you have shared here - very touching. Thank you!
One of the songs that I put to a video for my mom's visitation some years ago was "Now and Forever" - Carole King's song from 'A League of Their Own'.
The other song was "I'll Be Seeing You"
Still gets to me...

When I was 22 I lost my brother who was 24 and I had a pretty rought time for quite a long while. Now at 44 it is still pretty raw at times. One song that makes me think of him and still is hard to get through is "Old And Wise" by The Alan Parsons Poject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLtFsiOFn-4
