What's Your Favorite Travel Site?
Tell us about the best of the web
I love travel sites. Even though I don't get to travel as much as I used to, I love imagining where I might go next. Here's a round-up of my current favorites:
Because I'm cheap:
Like the stock market, airfare can rise and fall. A new site, www.farecast.com, can help you plot your course literally. It takes your flight plan and plots a simple graph so you can see how much it will cost depending on the date. The only draw back: it only displays domestic trips.
Because I'm a control freak:
Like to SEE where you're going before you go? You don't have to comb through thousands of YouTube's travel videos to satiate your curiosity -- just head to www.Turnhere.com. They produce great short films on specific destinations around the world restaurants, parks, hotels so you'll know exactly where you're going before you even get there.
For my inner gear geek:
The bloggers on www.TravelGearBlog.com can tell you about the latest luggage tags, backpacks, laptop gadgets, boots, and even those useless passport holders.
For day dreaming:
Ever wonder what a trip around the world might cost? It may not be as expensive as you think. Airtreks, a travel agency in San Francisco, has a killer app trip planner that can help you plot your route around the world and price the itinerary.

One of my favorite sites is called Gridskipper. It's a travel blog site that has tons of posts about everything related to travel. Even though I probably won't get to visit any of these cities soon, it's always fun to dream!
