My opinion on this particular thread probably doesn't matter since I'm technically not a boomer, but I'm not voting for either one of these guys. Here's why:
I think Obama is misleading his supporters. He's backpeddled on so many of the issues he initially ran on and he is constantly having to explain that his latest remarks were misunderstood or the nuances of semantics in what he originally said, etc. etc. I've looked at his voting record and I'm not impressed. Most especially the most recent one where he granted retroactive immunity to telecoms who broke the law with illegal wiretapping. He's a congressional scholar and this is how he votes? Shameful. Either he votes wrong or doesn't vote at all. Neither of which is impressive.
McCain is just nuts. That man has a problem. Well, several, actually. He wants to keep us at war in Iraq for 100 years. I got news for you, we'll be bankrupt WAY before that ever happens. He's for a trade agreement with Columbia. Like the other trade agreements we have in place have done us any good? He's against a woman's right to choose. He doesn't support veterans. He's got one of the worst records possible when it comes to bills supporting vets. The last one I believe he didn't even bother to VOTE! He's Bush III and you all know it.
I'm on my 3rd candidate this season. It's unfortunate that the first two couldn't hang on and had to drop out. Third one's a charm right? :-)

Debbie it sounds like you have been definately buying the koolaid. If you think that McCain seriously wants to be at war for the next 100 years then I want to sell you some swampland down here in Florida. Comeon, separate yourself from the under 30 crowd and use your brain.
FYI- I went to high school on an American Military base in Korea in the late sixties. the base is still there and so are our troops and yet since the 50's South Korea has not been at war and neither have our troops and Korea has developed from a third world, beaten down, poverty stricken country to a thoroughly developed high tech market economy for it's citizens and a huge contributor to our World Economy.
Excuse me though, have to go cook up a bowl of ramen noodles.

OK, maybe I (or McCain) misspoke. He doesn't want us at war for 100 years, just a permanent base... Either way, I think we should dismantle these bases and bring our troops home already. There is no reason that we need a military presence across 3/4 of the earth. Our country cannot afford it. Are you trying to say that OUR presence in S. Korea is what made Korea what it is today? Where's the proof of that? Regardless of where our troops will be McCain is still nuts. A man with a tendency towards temper tantrums doesn't belong in the white house with his hand over the nuclear weapons button. Just my opinion, but apparently I'm not alone in it.
Aside from the 100 year remark (which was indeed what Mr. McCain said), everything I posted was factual. What Koolaid are you thinking I'm drinking. Cause if I was drinking anyone's Koolaid, I believe I would be supporting one or the other of these candidates, right?
And, don't be so condescending.
