Assuming that you are a progressive-leaning individual...

1 - He will pull our soldiers out of Iraq immediately and stop this $10B/month hemorrhage.

2 - He supports universal single payer health care.

3 - He will fully support sensible regulation of industries such as banking and investment (deregulation is what got us in this mess).

4 - He is against the bailout bill.

5 - He supports the National Initiative proposed by Mike Gravel (www.ni4d.us).

6 - He would cut our military budget, which is currently more than the rest of the world combined.

7 - He supports green alternative energy and would encourage government policies that would make the US an innovative nation again, building technology in the green sector

8 - He doesn't support corporate welfare

9 - He supports impeachment of Bush/Cheney

10 - He would restore civil rights and the judiciary system back from the distortion that Bush/Cheney has left us.

Debbie.....I thank you for your post. I put up discussion boards like this for several candidates. You were the only person, in any of the boards, that presented their case in a supportive way for their candidate.

Thanks! I've found that a lot on these boards. Honestly, I think a lot of people don't familiarize themselves enough with the issues or their candidate's stance on them. I personally tend to go for candidates that are very strong in their opinions and don't waver for political reasons. I started out with Kucinich then went to Gravel and now I'm with Nader. These guys are absolute heroes to me. It's sad how the media and sometimes their own parties make them into pariahs. These guys are relentless and full of will power. Gravel just turned 76, I think, and he's still touring the country talking about the National Initiative when most people would be retiring to Florida. He's a good man. And Kucinich... I don't know where we'd be without him in Congress.

Yes, I find it odd that many people speak of wanting to stop the negativity in politics. But when presented with a forum to support their candidate, they instead bash the other guy.

I commend you on knowing your candidate and where he stands on important issues.
