Yeah, it would be a shame if they were just killing each other instead of our sons and daughters! This war of AGGRESSION was based on lies and should never have been started.

You are so mean spirited, ignorant, and full of crap.
Two of my sons have served in Iraq, in the U.S. Army and one of them is there now! The other one is to rotate in 3 months. They both know we are doing the right things and that the surge is working.

I watched both conventions and I've read both of Obama's biography's and his wifes hate filled masters thesis. I consider the candidates experience, Obama 10 years in government service, no administrative experience, NO military experience, and no accomplishments.
McCain; six years as a Prisoner of War, commander of his men even then. 24 years of military service, retired as a Captain. The next year he ran for the U.S. Senate, and easily won, after 26 years in the U.S. Senate he is running for President of the United States of America.
Lets see Obama 10 years of so called government service. No achievements, no accomplishments, Nothing. So far the CHANGE he's calling for comes to a total of ZERO. Well he has had 10 years to change anything so far...Nothing!
John McCain; 50 years of government service. Considerable experience as a soldier and as a politician. Some of his accomplishments follow... He made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually led to the passage of the McCain-Feingold Act in 2002. He is also known for his work towards restoring diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s, and for his belief that the war in Iraq should be fought to a successful conclusion in the 2000s. McCain has chaired the Senate Commerce Committee, has opposed pork barrel spending, and played a key role in alleviating a crisis over judicial nominations.
There is simply one best choice for President: McCain-Palin in '08
Compare the two...

Mean spirited? Ignorant? Full of crap? Judgmental much?
I have two very close friends who both served in Iraq, one for a single tour and one for two tours. Both of them expressed the same dismay when they returned home. As one of then said, "I joined the army to defend my country. That is NOT what we are doing over there." One of them is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder because of the things he saw over there (a little Iraqi boy died in his arms and a good friend standing right next to him was blown to bits), and you know what your wonderful Republican administration is doing to help him? Not a damned thing.

Stinker...I have to give credit where credit is due. You finally posted something that is presented with intelligence and a certain amount of insight. Good job.
Having said that, I disagree with your analysis. By cherry-picking only the perceived positives of one and only the perceived negatives of another, you could make Elmer Fudd seem like the better choice of two candidates.
You criticize Obama for your perception that his promised change is "ZERO." But explain something to me. John McCain himself admits that he voted with Bush at least 90% of the time and his stance on the issues is not one iota different from those W has blundered with for the past 8 years, so please tell me what and how McCain will be an agent of change, based on his policy of "staying the course?"

Yes Chris, you are as I described. How many of your sons and daughters have served in Vietnam and or Iraq? I can sure tell you haven't served. There are men and women who shouldn't be in the service, because you can not rely on them, or they are simply wrapped too tight. This is understandable.
What your friends have suffered is awful, but it was no different that when my second husband and many friends including Dinky, each served at least two tours in Vietnam.
"War is Hell". PTSD is nothing new and the VA has programs to help, so if your friends have an honorable discharge from military service, they can contact their local VA for help. It is absolutely available, effective and free. Yes, my wonderful Republican administration is doing all of this to help them? Proving that you are full of crap indeed.
Be a friend and suggest that they contact their local VA walk in clinic or VA hospital in their area. If you don't, then you are as much their problem as you think we are.

OK Chris, I'll do my best. I covered only the highlights of John McCain's achievements, accomplishments and experience, there is much more I didn't mention, but it doesn't mean they aren't equally important, just didn't want to go on and on.
On Obama delivering "ZERO" change in his ten years in government service, "ZERO" achievements, "ZERO" accomplishments and little to no experience. I'm sorry but that is pretty much adds up to "ZERO" in my book.
He says he's for helping the poor, yet he leaves his own brother to suffer and live on $12.00 a year in Africa. If that is the way he helps his own brother and a member of his own family, I sure don't want him taking care of me.
Obama doesn't have the skills to administer anything, he has never ran a city, county, state. He worked his way up in the Richard M. Daley political machine. He helped organize illegal voters in Chicago for a far leftist group and that's about it.
"You criticize Obama for your perception that his promised change is "ZERO."" That's right, so far in 10 years he has produced nothing of importance and nothing from the status quo.

Well I'm glad you admit to being judgmental. I appreciate your honesty.
From what I can tell from your post, your loved ones are alive and unscathed. I am thankful for that.
My uncle was killed in Vietnam and his three daughters have been traumatized their whole lives because of it. Not to mention how it affected my grandparents and my father. So, yes, I have seen and experienced first hand how a soldier's death in a senseless war can break a family's collective heart and leave lifelong scars. So don't think you have the market cornered on knowing something about such things.
And how DARE you even suggest that my friends (or any soldier, for that matter) are unreliable or "wrapped too tight?" You don't know them and I don't see YOU marching off to Iraq, you hateful blowhard.
Both of them are still in the army. And no, the current administration is NOT helping them. When one of them returned from Iraq after 18 months, I had to call my (Democratic) congressman to get the army to live up to the promises they had made him.
And yes, war IS hell, which is why you shouldn't send our best and bravest into it lightly, with no good reason. They deserve better than that.
