in myspace, isnt that for the younger generation? TBD is a great sight for us baby boomers, and mature adults.

I found TBD just today while looking for someplace that I can get information about how to do my aging parents right from a grown kid's point of view.
I got the "I'm in the right place" feeling right away, and have been slinking around the forums instead of working all afternoon!
Shame on me....but happy for it!
I just turned 45, and am in a fairly remote part of the world. Friends my age are hard to come by!

Welcome everyone to TBD!

Not sure which is safer -- the motorcycle or the affair. They both seem pretty neck-and-neck in my opinion, but at least the motorcycle is moralistically-correct!! LOL
~ JUST A GUY HERE ~
Welcome, and you'll surely enjoy TBD compared to other sites.
~ THASSAN ~
I agree. TBD is a much more mature site than many. Hope you enjoy it.
~ MARYMC ~
You'll make many friends on this site, and will receive great advice concerning your parents. Good luck.
~ ROXYT ~
Well, Roxy, you'll meet plenty of friends, including men. There is also a dating section on TBD. Hope you find someone.

Stumbled across a magazine article about this website. Checked it out & here I am. My daughter set me up on myspace last year. I lasted all of 2 days and told her...."GET ME OFF THIS CRAZY THING!" I agree with Zumbadeb...it was way too creepy for me.
After wasting countless hours on dating sites, I just couldn't stomach that any longer. I do like feeling connected & this is a healthy, informative, fun outlet that fills that need.
My outlook is a tad more realistic. I am single and doubt that this is where I will make a love connection. But having e-pals has it's own rewards. And I usually walk away learning something...even about myself.

I've never ventured near MySpace, and I am a Facebook member. However, most of the users of Facebook are twentysomethings. I think teebeedee and the proposed Boomertown is exactly what our generation needs.
More and more I hear talk and rhetoric about what an indulgent generation we are. However, I see the baby boomers as the people who were willing to put all the cards on the table and take some chances, something no other generation had done before or after (thus far) us. We talked about sex, we talked about human rights and equality, we asked the hard questions. I, for one, am willing to say that our generation doesn't have all the answers, but we sure posed the questions that are shaping what will hopefully become a better society.
