Prompt 9/5 - 9/14: Four Plus One

Today, Sept 5, we start a new exercise here in ImPromptu. Here are the rules for this prompt:

Start a new discussion for your submission.

Submissions are limited to no more than 1,000 words (about a page and a half in Word using 12 point font, 1.25” margins left/right, 1” margins top/bottom).

You may make one submission per prompt.

All submissions are due by the end of the day on Sunday, September 15th. The only time limit you have is midnight Sunday.

Work should be original (fiction, non-fiction or both), nothing previously written, no pictures (this is about the words) and must be submitted by the author.

Please place the prompt (ex. Four Plus One) in the subject line of your discussion. You may also add the title of the piece (ex. Four Plus One: A New Day)

Indicate whether or not you wish to receive feedback. If you want to know something specific about the work, ask. When offering feedback to another, be positive, constructive and do not offer unless the author has asked.

As always, remember the TBD Community Guidelines. Misplaced posts or responses that are not related to the prompt will be removed.

So let’s begin:

Prompt - Write a story that includes a cup of coffee, three strangers and a wish.

Where can I do a writing about myself? I started writing one before I read the Prompt at the bottom. I like writing. I have written some poems also.

The general writing group is open to post any kind of written work - TWG (The Writing Group). There are also a number of poetry groups at TWG and smaller writing groups. If you use the search engine at the top of the page or browse groups, you can locate them.

Well, dear, this one surprised me. The variety of responses to something that seemed like it might be difficult was quite overwhelming (though a few folks did seem to have problems working in the wish and some just had the coffee as a prop rather than as a player.) Still, the sheer number of submissions shows that this was a very good challenge!
