Speaking of cats & walls. We had a Burman cat back home who would not be confined to the house & kept us on our toes with gifts on a constant basis... mice, lizards, snakes & once even a rat. Amazingly never a bird. Of course the majority of these gifts arrived either when we had guests (sitting at the dining room table) or when my husband was away.
One trip when he was away she bought a small garden snake into the house & let it go. It got into a sliding door frame & disappeared. I don't deal with snakes & taped the doorway up totally so that nothing could get out. There was no other exit for the snake & we could here it rustling away for a couple of days. When my husband got home & peeled the tape away the poor snake was stuck to it half way up the door frame.
We also had to rescue the cat off the roof many times.
