I went on a ghost tour in New Orlean long ago, The guide would explain what happened
;the story of each site. I unknowingly started talking along with her, she told me to finish and say what I saw; Somehow, I was seeing what happened there, The tour guide said I should join a paranormal group.
I have respect for the field and probably would enjoy it; my mom was a gifted psychic.
I do feel there are cons and then there are the real thing.
I love ghost stories, I wonder though if it is the actual essence of a person that haunts or is it just the energy of what happened there, What do you guys think?
Thanks for opening the can of worms!!

From personal experience, I would say the disencarnate spirit, which is the actual essence of a person and their personality. From what I have read, however, both may be true.

I agree PaulaMae, I think there are times when there is the actual essence and then there are whats called "residual" hauntings, where Im thinking that the energy of an event keeps repeating itself,
I also wonder though, that when it is a residual event, is there a part of that persons' spirit that will not be complete until peace has been made....
(I analyze everthing, sorry)
Also, I believe in reincarnation, so I wonder if one of those "residuals" are from a past life, and when one makes peace with self, does the residual go away...?

My son and daughter-in-law got me started watching TAPS and I find it quite interesting and sometimes scary.
I see and feel energies and sometimes events that have taken place. I've always been able to feel when a spirit is nearby.
I don't classify the spiritual energies as residual or a haunting of intellect, if a spirit wants to be heard, they need to let us know.

I have been doing "spirit work" for over 30 years. But, I dont belong to any group. I have a very select clientele and only take new clients that are refered by those I have already worked with. I have found that speaking openly about it on this site
is not a good idea. I appreciate research groups. But, I dont believe there is any way to scientifically prove the existence of spirits. That is the "nature" of OUR "physical existence". There are synchronicities and sometimes miraculous events. But, proving anything scientifically will not happen in my lifetime. There are just too many people who have their own agendas.

I concur. As much as I'm willing to talk on any subject, I reign myself in here on this one. That's why I offer to refer people to those that can help them, but only do so if they ask me and through PM.
