Guess Again!! August 16,2005 and I've never looked back!! Maybe I am unique but it does happen.I have all my teeth and I am still intelligent even though many that have recovered weren't as fortunate.

adwatkins, the parents I have seen struggle with a child's addiction have a much tougher time than significant others. You can always draw a line as an SO: stop using or the relationship is over. How to draw a line with a child of any age is different. I so urge you to go to Al-Anon or Narc-Anon to talk with other parents. Good luck.

Yes and No, an addict can be helped but they will never stop using or stay stopped unless they do it for the right reason, themself. I lost EVERYTHING just like hundreds of others before "I" decided to get clean, and that's just the way it is. Non-addicts can help by loving the person no matter what BUT, do not allow the addict to run over them, "We do not need Simpathy!!!"
